Tra Que Vegetable Village Recognized as the World’s Best Tourism Village
Tra Que Vegetable Village, located just 3 kilometers from the UNESCO-recognized Hoi An Ancient Town, has been honored as one of 55 “Best Tourism Villages 2024” by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The UNWTO’s Best Tourism Village award celebrates destinations that preserve rural traditions, landscapes, and biodiversity while promoting sustainable tourism practices. This year, the organization reviewed over 260 applications from 60 countries and selected Tra Que for its exemplary commitment to the pillars of sustainable tourism: social justice, economic development, and environmental integrity.
Visitors to Tra Que can enjoy a hands-on experience of organic farming guided by local farmers. Tra Que Vegetable Village joins an elite list of 130 destinations worldwide that have received the Best Tourism Village title. It is the third Vietnamese village to earn this honor, following Thai Hai Village (Thai Nguyen Province) in 2022 and Tan Hoa Village (Quang Binh Province) in 2023.
