Immerse In the Breathtaking “Sea of clouds” at Phuong Hoang Hill
About 60 kilometers away from the well-known Ha Long Bay, in the charming Bac Son Ward of Uong Bi City in Quang Ninh Province, is Phuong Hoang (Phoenix) Hill. Nearly 500 meters are gained above sea level.
According to locals, this sea of clouds only beautifies the scenery in the autumn after days of nonstop rain and a chilly air. The view from Phuong Hoang Hill possesses an untamed beauty. The contours of the mountains and hills extend as far as you can see, creating a captivating blend of land and sky.
At Phuong Hoang Hill, many visitors choose to spend the night camping. Renting tents, tables, and chairs is an alternative for individuals who are concerned about bringing their own equipment; rates range from VND200,000-400,000 (US$8-16) per day and night. Additionally, there are food alternatives available, with meals costing between VND200,000 and VND300,000 per person.
From October through the following January, Phuong Hoang Hill also experiences the seasonal changes, which gradually turn the rich foliage into a warm, earthy brown. Motorbikes and cars can be used to travel the one kilometer to the hill’s summit, but it is a steep and difficult route. Motorbike taxis are easily accessible and cost 50,000VND apiece for one journey.
