Positive Promoting Engagement in Laos Tourism in 2024
Laos is gearing up for a major tourism campaign that will showcase its rich culture, nature, and hospitality to the world in 2024.
The campaign, called “The Visit Laos Year 2024”, was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Kikeo Khakhamphithoune, and will officially kick off on November 23, 2023. The government hopes to attract at least 4.6 million tourists and generate travel revenue of up to USD 712 million.
The opening ceremony was held at That Luang Esplanade in Vientiane Capital and received much praise and positive support.The event will highlight the significance and potential of the campaign, as well as the readiness and enthusiasm of the Lao people to welcome visitors from all over the world. Its significance shows how effective it will be in attracting tourists to Laos and encouraging the manufacturing of products to enhance the quality of services throughout the country.
The campaign will feature various cultural activities and traditional festivals in different regions of Laos, which will showcase the diversity and beauty of the Lao culture and heritage. The campaign will also promote the development and improvement of tourism products and services, as well as the safety and sustainability of tourism practices.
To prepare for the campaign, the government has taken several measures to facilitate and enhance the travel experience for tourists. To name a few, road signage on routes to neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand has been installed. More tourist attractions and facilities have been upgraded and expanded. Outdoor activities and safety protocols have been issued for tourism operators to follow.
The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism will soon reveal the final logo and slogan of the campaign, which will reflect the identity and vision of Laos as a tourism destination. The campaign is expected to boost the economy, create jobs, and foster international relations for Laos.
