Phu Quoc: Top Choice for Foreign Tourists Visiting Vietnam During Tet
Phu Quoc Island, recently named the world’s second-most beautiful island by Travel + Leisure readers, has become the top destination for international travelers visiting Vietnam during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.
According to Agoda’s data, collected between November 27 and December 21, 2024, there is a significant surge in searches for accommodations on Phu Quoc, increasing by 266% compared to Da Nang (119%) and Nha Trang (104%). The holiday, marking the start of the Year of the Snake, begins on January 29, 2025.
Unlike many other tourism parts of Vietnam, which are expected to be quieter during Tet, Phu Quoc is preparing for an influx of foreign tourists. In 2024, Phu Quoc welcomed over 5.9 million visitors, a 7.1% increase from the previous year, including 963,000 international tourists, according to the island city’s People’s Committee. With its stunning beaches and world-class attractions, Phu Quoc continues to solidify its status as a premier travel destination.
