Phu Quoc’s New International Cruise Port to Open in 2025
Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island and a rising star in global tourism, is making final preparations to welcome its first international cruise passengers at its new Phu Quoc International Passenger Port. The port is expected to play a key role in boosting the island’s tourism industry, with a significant milestone set for February 14, when a cruise ship carrying approximately 2,000 foreign tourists is scheduled to arrive.

Located in Duong Dong Ward, the Phu Quoc International Passenger Port spans a total area of 180 hectares, including 2.8 hectares on land. With an investment of over VND 1.64 trillion (US$69 million), the project has been under construction since 2015 and is expected to be fully completed by 2025. Once fully operational, the port will allow luxury cruise ships carrying 3,000-4,000 tourists to dock with ease, making Phu Quoc an increasingly attractive destination for international cruise lines.

Recently, Travel + Leisure magazine ranked Phu Quoc as the second most beautiful island in the world, just behind the Maldives. With its pristine beaches, luxury resorts, and growing international appeal, the island is well on its way to becoming a leading destination in Southeast Asia. Moreover, the island is also considered one of the most romantic places for honeymoons in Vietnam.
