Hue Festival 2024 with the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration & Development”

2024 is the head start of the Hue International Arts Festival which will be periodically held. Therefore, this occasion will be an important highlight in the series of activities taking place during the year.

Hue Festival 2024 will be held with continuous activities throughout the year, starting with the Festival Opening Program – Ban Soc Ceremony on January 1st. Before that, the Countdown Program with the highlight being Hue Festival Week 2024 gathered much attention and participation on 31st December, 2023.

Over 24 years of development, the Hue Festival has become one of the signature events proudly named all over the globe. From its significant results and experiences gained, the most highlighted week of the Hue Festival (from 7th-12th June/2024) will present various high-quality performances throughout the course of the event, bringing artists from Hue, Vietnamese cultural regions, and unique international art troupes. 

• ANCIENT CAPITAL SPRING (JANUARY – MARCH) 

Specifically, the Spring Festival “Ancient Capital Spring” takes place from January to March. The Spring Festival stretches throughout the first 3 months of the year, including royal festivals, traditional festivals, and special folk festivals, with the highlight being the opening program of the 2024 Hue Four Seasons Festival and the Ban Soc Ceremony with the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development“. 

Many royal and folk Tet activities are extremely rich and unique with Tet customs, traditional Tet cultural spaces, along with spring entertainment activities of the ancient Hue Capital combined, commemorating Thua Thien Hue Liberation Day.

At Ngo Mon Square (Hue) on the first day of 2024, the Ban Soc Ceremony of the Nguyen Dynasty was recreated by Hue Monuments Conservation Center’s performance is staged in a theatrical form with the goal of introducing cultural values and festivals associated with heritage; create a joyful and meaningful atmosphere during the New Year; contributing to promoting the image of Hue ancient capital heritage site. 

As it was a beautiful recreation, carrying the humanistic spirit of the ancients and an opportunity for tourists and people to experience the heritage of Hue Ancient Capital on the first day of the year with many new hopes.

• THE SHINING CAPITAL (APRIL – JUNE)

The Summer Festival with a dynamic theme called “The Shining Capital” will take place from April 7th – June 12th, 2024 as a highlight period. With the span of 3 months, tourists will be able to experience enthralling activities and be able to immerse in the festive atmosphere of Hue.

• HUE IN AUTUMN (JULY – SEPTEMBER)

The Fall Festival takes place from July to September with the highlight of activities: Mid-Autumn Festival fun such as Hue International Lantern Festival 2024 combined with display, installation, and lantern procession activities. cages, lion dance performances, and more.

• WINTER IN HUE (OCTOBER – DECEMBER)

The Winter Festival takes place from October to December. The event will include a number of new festival activities to create a more vibrant atmosphere to create all kinds of entertainment for tourists to enjoy during their stay in the ancient capital of Hue with the highlight being the International Music Week and the Countdown Program to welcome the new year. 

There are a lot of interesting things to do around this time in Hue, as it offers a plethora of captivating experiences, making it an ideal time to explore this enchanting city.
