Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Building Sparkles under 3D Mapping Projection Show
On the evening of December 4, 2024, despite a heavy rainstorm, hundreds of spectators flocked to Nguyen Hue Walking Street in District 1 to witness the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Building illuminated in a dazzling 3D mapping projection show.
The program, titled “Hello Vietnam”, showcased advanced 3D mapping technology that seamlessly integrated Vietnam’s cultural heritage into the building’s architecture. This cutting-edge technology projected cultural symbols such as the Dong Son bronze drum patterns and iconic Vietnamese elements, including the traditional Vietnamese dress, banh chung (square sticky rice cake), onto the façade. Each projection brought the century-old structure to life with vivid imagery and radiant colors, captivating the audience.
The event also highlighted the city’s unique identity and history. Previously, 3D mapping had adorned the Municipal Theatre with visuals that celebrated Ho Chi Minh City’s rich past. This latest display turned architectural elements like the City Hall’s clock tower and statue into blossoming floral designs, immersing viewers in an extraordinary visual journey.
The 3D mapping performance was part of the opening ceremony for the Teqball World Championships, hosted on Nguyen Hue Street from December 3 to 8. Over 220 athletes from 95 countries have gathered to participate, turning the city into a bustling hub of international sports and cultural exchange.
This artistic display, blending Vietnam’s traditions with modern technology, draws locals and international visitors alike. It underscored Ho Chi Minh City‘s role as a vibrant cultural and entertainment destination, leaving attendees with unforgettable memories of the illuminated City Hall.
