Attapeu promotes the improvement and development of Lao’s tourism

Attapeu is the province located in the southeastern tip of Laos. It is also best known for the Bolaven Plateau, which shares borders with Sekong in the north, Champasak in the west, Vietnam in the east, and Cambodia in the south.

Attapeu not only has mountains, forests, streams, rivers, and waterfalls but also has very beautiful and sacred temples. A temple worth visiting for tourists when coming to Attapeu is Wat Sakae, a temple following ancient Khmer architecture where there is a sacred Buddha statue. It is visited and prayed for by many people from all over. Pray on the occasion of the annual Water Festival (Boun Pimay).

Over the past two and a half years, Attapeu province has continuously focused on improving and developing tourism in the province, focusing on promoting natural, cultural, and historical tourism related to green and sustainable agricultural tourism and participation in 3 locations (increased to 7 locations). The province encourages restaurant, hotel, and motel businesses to improve themselves to meet the standards, of which 7 business units have been certified to meet Lao Safe standards, including 5 hotels and 2 restaurants, encouraging tourism business associations to promote their role and gradually grow stronger.

From now until 2025, the province will focus on developing tourism by promoting it to all audiences, improving the diversity of tourism programs, developing tourism resources, creating facilities for tourists, appropriate hotel and restaurant fees, and promoting agricultural and handicraft production and services, especially the production of unique items in each locality.
