A unique perspective on the nightlife entertainment model in Vietnam
Being well-known for an upbeat vibe on the streets among SEA countries, but Vietnam seems to lack the potential of expanding more night markets and entertainment activities for foreigners to participate. The government has sent approval on night-time economy development since 2020. Despite remarkable night-life entertainment sites having gone into construction, Vietnam hasn’t shown any sign yet to launch promising projects in making this a reality.

Except for Bui Vien (Saigon), a vibrant nightlife strip, or Ta Hien beer hubs (Hanoi), the busiest backpackers precincts are mostly populated with foreigners. While in Nguyen Hue walking street are welcomed with much more locals than travelers.

Tourist centric has a local equivalent that is many times larger in terms of options. Vietnam nightlife seems to be more subtle in terms of its traditional culture rather than Thailand, whereas it’s very open for entertainment and other explicit groundbreakers.
In other words there is plenty, but it isn’t exactly suitable for travelers with much access. And why should it be otherwise? Some intriguing comment shares that “the very concept of developing a specific night-time tourism industry sounds intrinsically seedy“.
Nightlife in Thailand includes Red Light District in Bangkok, which is well-known by visitors and has become a distinctive attraction.
Much to the locals’ experience, Vietnamese people have an intriguing lifestyle, whereas much of the night activities are debatable on taking up to the next level as its neighbor – Thailand. Nonetheless, the lifestyle of Vietnamese people takes on a very unique feature when dusk falls.
