MEKONG DELTA VIETNAM MY THO – CAN THO – CA MAU – BAC LIEU

7:30: Pick up at the hotel in HCM city. Depart to My Tho province.

Drive to My Tho. On the way, stop by to visit the ancient pagoda more than 100 years old – Vinh Trang pagoda, the largest Buddhist temple in Tien Giang province.

11:00 Drive to the boat wharf and then board the boat to continue the journey along the banks of the Mekong River. Admire the beauty of four islands named by the four mythical creatures: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix.

12:00 Stop at Unicorn Island (Thoi Son island) to visit crocodile farm, honey farm and enjoy glasses of honey tea – very good for health. You will also visit coconut candy village, experience making coconut candy by hand.

12:30 Have lunch and take a short rest.

14:00 Return to My Tho by boat and depart to Can Tho city.

Overnight in Can Tho.

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick you up at your hotel and then head to Chau Doc town, which is about 120 km from Can Tho. On the way, you will see a lot of beautiful rice fields, fruit, and vegetable farms.

• Visit Lau pagoda, which is a very unique Khmer architectural site. You will get a cultural tour with a lot of religious information and memorable photos here. If you are a culture lover, this place would be a fantastic place to satisfy your curiosity.

Head to Tra Su Forest, it is a nature lover’s dream. That’s a fantastic place to explore nature and see many wild birds that can’t be seen in other places in their natural habitats.

• A motorboat will take you deeper into the forest, and then rowboat ladies will ferry visitors through the flooded Cajuput forest for about 15 minutes. 
• Go trekking for 15 minutes to get to the bird-watching tower to see the whole view of the vast forest and birds perched on the branches. 
• Enjoy an authentic Vietnamese lunch in the heart of Tra Su Forest.

Sugar palm field is a great place to take beautiful pictures. 

Back to Can Tho. 

8:00 Transfer to to the boat wharf, board a boat to visit the best of Can Tho:

• The Cai Rang floating market, the largest and most vibrant wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta. Try some of the fantastic noodles or traditional dishes, one-of-a-kind local cuisine, and fresh tropical fruits. Get a closer look at life on a boat and witness the colorful and lively scenes of trading and bargaining (the meals on boat are not included).

• The local noodle factory (family business) to see how to make rice noodles in the traditional way demonstrated step by step. Then, Enjoy a special crispy “noodle pizza”.

10:00 Return to the mainland and depart to An Binh boat station in Vinh Long city to 

visit An Binh Islet – well known for its beautiful fruit gardens. 

Travel along the handmade canal to Ut Trinh home. Enjoy an optional lunch at this traditional house.

After lunch, you can walk in the local village to visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice… Enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea. 

Or you can ride a bicycle through villages and fruit gardens, as well as explore local daily life through activities like fishing, gardening,…

16:30 End trip in An Binh Islet, back to An Binh boat station and take the car to the hotel in Can Tho City

Free time for dinner overnight in Can Tho.

8:00 After breakfast, check out the hotel. Depart to Ca Mau Province. 

12:00 Have lunch at restaurant. 

• • Visit Uncle Ho Memorial House. This traditional house displays many precious exhibits, photos and documents about life and revolutionary career of Uncle Ho. The special things of this house is Uncle Ho’s stilt house in Lang Sen (Lotus Village) is reconstructed in full detail. 

• Visit Monivongsa Bopharam Pagoda – a Khmer pagoda, renowned for its unique structure.

Check-in at the hotel in Ca Mau and rest freely.

Free time to explore the night market and more activities you like in Ca Mau city. Overnight in Ca Mau.

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick you up at your hotel and then head to U Minh Ha National Park. Here, visitors can experience: 

• Floating on “vo lai” (local boat) to explore the typical wetland ecosystem with a variety of flora and fauna. 
• Sitting on a boat to get deep into the forest for fishing (personal expenses)
• Standing on the forest observation deck, admire the endless forest and vast waterways.

Have lunch at a restaurant. Enjoy U Minh Ha specialties.  

Return to Ca Mau. 

Afternoon, visit: 

• Ca Mau Market through scenic country road 
• Ca Mau mat-weaving village at Tan Thanh, you will see a colorful picture of mats.
