Mekong Delta Tour: My Tho, Can Tho & An Giang Exploration

7:30: Pick up at the hotel in HCM city. Depart to My Tho province.

Drive to My Tho. On the way, stop by to visit the ancient pagoda more than 100 years old – Vinh Trang pagoda, the largest Buddhist temple in Tien Giang province.

11:00 Drive to the boat wharf and then board the boat to continue the journey along the banks of the Mekong River. Admire the beauty of four islands named by the four mythical creatures: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix.

12:00 Stop at Unicorn Island (Thoi Son island) to visit crocodile farm, honey farm and enjoy glasses of honey tea – very good for health. You will also visit coconut candy village, experience making coconut candy by hand.

12:30 Have lunch and take a short rest.

14:00 Return to My Tho by boat and depart to Can Tho city.

Free time to explore the night market and more activities you like in Can Tho city.

(Walk around the streets at night to discover “Tay Do” shimmering colors: sightseeing Can Tho bridge at night; check-in Love Bridge – S-shaped winding design with two lotuses and a system of colorful LED lights; take pictures at the ancient Ong Pagoda ; Explore Ninh Kieu night market and Can Tho mural street Past and Present – recreating the cultural beauty of Can Tho people in particular, the Mekong Delta in general)

Overnight in Can Tho

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick you up at your hotel and then head to Chau Doc town, which is about 120 km from Can Tho. On the way, you will see a lot of beautiful rice fields, fruit, and vegetable farms.

• Visit Lau pagoda, which is a very unique architectural site. You will get a cultural tour with a lot of religious information and memorable photos here. If you are a culture lover, this place would be a fantastic place to satisfy your curiosity. 

Head to Tra Su Forest, it is a nature lover’s dream. That’s a fantastic place to explore nature and see many wild birds that can’t be seen in other places in their natural habitats.

• A motorboat will take you deeper into the forest, and then rowboat ladies will ferry visitors through the flooded Cajuput forest for about 15 minutes. 
• Go trekking for 15 minutes to get to the bird-watching tower to see the whole view of the vast forest and birds perched on the branches. 
• Enjoy an authentic Vietnamese lunch in the heart of Tra Su Forest.

Sugar palm field is a great place to take beautiful pictures. 

Back to Can Tho. 

Overnight in Can Tho.

7:00 Breakfast and Check out the hotel.

8:00 Transfer to to the boat wharf, board a boat to visit the best of Can Tho: 

• The Cai Rang floating market, the largest and most vibrant wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta. 
• The local noodle factory (family business) to see how to make rice noodles in the traditional way demonstrated step by step.
• Visit Binh Thuy ancient house. 

Have lunch. 

After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh City. End trip.
