MEKONG DELTA AND COOKING CLASS

8h00: Lua Viet Tours’s Car and Guide will pick you up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to My Tho boat station.(about 1.5h).

9h15:  Drive to My Tho. On the way, stop by to visit the ancient pagoda more than 100 years old – Vinh Trang pagoda, the largest Buddhist temple in Tien Giang province.

10:00 Drive to the boat wharf and then take the boat to continue the journey along the banks of the Mekong River, admire the beauty of four islands named by the four mythical creatures: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix.

11:00 Stop at Unicorn Island to visit crocodile farm, honey farm and enjoy glasses of honey tea – very good for health. You will also visit coconut candy village, experience making coconut candy by hand.

12:00 Rests for lunch.

13:30 You sit on a boat through the canals with coconut trees on both sides of the canal. The boat will take you along the river to participate in the exciting fish catching activity.

14:00  Visit Phoenix Island – an island named after the four supernatural creatures: Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise, Phoenix. 

• Visit the Coconut Religion Historical Sites in Ben Tre with a construction built over 50 years with a total area of about 1,500m2. Admire the unique architectural works remaining of the monument that are preserved almost intact: Nine Dragon Yard, Nine-storey Tower, Earth Globe, Apollo Spaceship, North-South Road, Eight Trigrams Platform, Three Gates, Nine Peaks.
• Visit the Coconut Museum – where collects and recreates the life of the people of Coconut Land. Many images of life as well as musical instruments, utensils made from coconut trees are displayed here. The most special thing is that the museum is made entirely from coconut trees.
• Visit the famous coconut candy production facility, handicrafts from coconut. You can visit and shop at the handicraft facility made from parts of coconut trees: spoons, teapots, funny animals, coconut oil,… In addition, you can also witness the production process of coconut candy from peeling, scraping, cooking… and enjoy hot, delicious coconut candy just out of the oven.

16h00: Loop-the-loop in Ben Tre and then get back on the car to drive to Can Tho.

7h00: Breakfast and check out hotel.

8h00: Pick up at the hotel and then go down to the boat wharf, get on the boat to visit the Cai Rang floating market – the largest wholesale floating market in the Southwest. Experience breakfast on the river.

• Visit the local noodle factory (family business) to see how to make rice noodles in the traditional way demonstrated step by step. Then, Enjoy a special crispy “noodle pizza”.
• Visit Son Islet in Can Tho. You can visit almost any local’s house to experience the activities and lifestyle here. Take a leisurely walk on the village paths, visit local people’s home, orchard garden and enjoy seasonal fruits.
• Visiting the seasonal orchards and enjoying the cooking class at Son Islet. Our chef will take us through the processes necessary from turning fresh ingredients into culinary masterpieces. Follow their lead as your creations take form; they will be ready for admiring and eating around noon time.
• Relish this lunch of your own creation and receive and Vietnamese cooking certificate to show off at home!

15h00: Return to the mainland,

• Visit Binh Thuy communal house. This house has a nice blend of Asian and Western architectural styles to reflect Mekong’s life.
• Stop at Munir Ansay Pagoda – Khmer temple, famous for its unique structure. 

Return to Ho Chi Minh City.

17:30 End the tour at your hotel.
